Become a writer for GMB!

26-02-2026

Dear readers!

It's been 4+ years of Global Metal Blog now. We passed 10.000+ visitors per month in 2025. I thank all those of you who keep coming back to indulge in my writings about metal, hard rock, and perhaps not least, their foul antitheses.

Among those of you who've contacted me through the years, some have expressed their interest in writing about metal music themselves.

… Well, finally, here's your chance:

Global Metal blog is seeking 1 or 2 passionate and knowledgeable writer(s) to review new albums and/or concerts in your local area!

You'd be expected to do 1-2 reviews per month. I especially need someone who's familiar with death metal, black metal, thrash metal, and/or doom metal. But knowledge and passion about further subgenres like progressive, symphonic, and industrial metal is also a plus. And, of course, plain ol' hard rock. Generally, no "-core", and definitely no Linkin Bizkit.

It's equally important that you write in a captivating manner; that you've got a solid grip on basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and that you don't say "LiTeRaLLy" about anything and everything.

Please note that this is currently volunteer work. GMB is a passion project that's paid 100% out of my own pocket. However, you will be getting your name in front of thousands of readers worldwide, you will be honing your writing (and listening) skills, you will be working directly with yours truly, and you will be adding a bullet point to the ol' résumé.

The latter is more important than you might think. And also, you'd be potentially getting on concert guest lists.

Think you've got what it takes?

Shoot me an email at mail@globalmetalblog.com, and tell me a bit about yourself, your background, and your preferences – musically, as well as your favorite beer, dog or cat person, etc. Please include at least two written reviews (500-800 words) of the latest metal albums you've heard.

Put "New writer for Global Metal Blog" in the email topic field. Just so I know you're serious about it.

Think global, act metal.
